Part-time guitarist and full-time feminist, Cheri’s work is rooted in amplifying underrepresented voices on air, online and in print.
During her twenties, she played lead guitar in a touring two-piece, sharing the stage with The Slits and John Peel-approved punks The Nightingales. Former deputy editor at TGA magazine, Cheri headed up its Tech section pouring over pedals with everyone from indie icon Debbie Smith (Echobelly/Curve) to multi-instrumentalist Katie Harkin (Seater Kinney/Waxahatchee/Wye Oak).
Cheri is a familiar face at inspirational arts hub, The Roundhouse, where she has formed and facilitated social media storytelling and blogging workshops for its young adults. She’s also an integral part of the Music, Media, and Communication course at BIMM Academy in London alongside “the man who invented grunge” Everett True.
For six years, Cheri was one of the hosts of longstanding culture show, The Other Woman, championing women and non-binary artists at Resonance FM and Soho Radio. She’s continued her audio work with Dutch music festival Le Guess Who? and has regularly appeared on the decks at Loud Women Festival, the largest female-led festival in the UK.
Most recently, Cheri has become an author, contributing to cult music series 33 1/3 on the unassuming influence of South Bronx sister troupe ESG which is out now via Bloomsbury.
